How to set up a Competitive Player Profile (CPP) and link UTR

Every player needs a CPP to enter tournaments and leagues in Australia. Step-by-step setup for parents and players.

For parents and junior coordinators · Updated 28 October 2026

What a CPP is

A Competitive Player Profile (CPP) joins your Tennis ID with your UTR Sports profile. It holds your match history, upcoming matches and rating in one place. You need one to play competitive tennis in Australia.

One sign-in now covers Match Centre, League Manager and the tournament site. Multi-factor authentication is set up the first time you sign in.

Tip: Your Tennis ID is an 11-digit number that starts with 66. You will find it on your Match Centre dashboard, under your name.

Setting one up for a child

  • Children under 15 must have their profile linked to a parent or guardian.
  • Create your own account first, then link your child's profile to it. Your child does not need a separate username and password.
  • Only your child's account should be linked to their UTR Rating, never yours.
  • Use the same name, email and date of birth for the Tennis ID and UTR so results match the right player.

Steps: new to everything

  1. 1Go to Match Centre (matchcentre.tennis.com.au).
  2. 2Register for a new account.
  3. 3Once the account is created you land on your Match Centre dashboard.
  4. 4Click "Activate my UTR Rating".
  5. 5Follow the steps on screen to link your Tennis ID to your UTR Rating.

Steps: you already have one part

Already have a Tennis ID: sign in to Match Centre and click "Activate my UTR Rating" on your dashboard.

Already have a UTR Sports account: register on Match Centre, click "Activate my UTR Rating", then choose to sign in to your existing UTR Sports account.

Tip: Not sure if you are done? Sign in to Match Centre. If there is no "Activate my UTR Rating" button, your profile is already complete and linked.

Common problems

  • UTR says a profile may already exist: do not make a new one. Choose "Yes, this is me" on the matching profile.
  • You have two Tennis IDs: finish your CPP first, then submit a merge request on Match Centre or the tournament site.
  • Your child had a CPP but you did not: create a CPP in your own name and ask to link it to your child's account.
  • Still stuck: Tennis Australia Customer Support on 1800 752 983 or play@tennis.com.au.
